Word from the Director
Shiv is an enthusiastic engineer that never lost his childlike curiosity. With 5years of STEM tutoring experience, engineering/data science degrees, and a knack for business; he has found a unique way to express his passion and give back to the community that helped him reach his dreams. He now directs the IDEA Lab Kids franchise in Cypress, TX.
His experience with youth comes from his time at the University of Houston where he dedicated hundreds of hours to classroom teaching, mentoring, and community outreach. Following his graduation from the University of Houston with dual degrees in Chemical Engineering and Economics, Shiv is helping meet the world’s energy needs as an engineer at ExxonMobil.
This, in addition to his work with the Society of Women Engineers and Engineer Without Borders, has prepared him to take on the challenge of opening a new Idea Lab Kids program in his home city! Shiv has a passion for backpacking, exploring different cultures, and learning new languages. He has even embarked on a 6-month backpacking trip across the globe. His hope is to take his diverse background to create a safe, creative outlet that sparks a passion for future engineers, doctors, and scientists.
